It is with profound sadness and shock we announce the passing of Nick on June 29, 2021 at 12:20 p.m. with his wife and daughter by his side. Loving husband to Katrina, proud dad to Joyce (Ed), Gordon (Pam), grandad to Callum (deceased), Keyan, Ellery, Evan, Breann and Kolby. Eldest son to the late Cornelius and Catherine of Holland, big brother to Emmy of Mississauga, Mickey of Holland, Peter of Nova Scotia, Mary of Holland and cousin to Nick (Ann) of Port Perry. Nick was an extremely proud, hardworking, accomplished man. He owned and operated Vanwesten Construction Company for 25 years and worked as a foreman of Peterborough Homes for 25 years. He was involved in the community as a Scoutmaster, Foster Parent and Big Brother. Nick was an avid hunter, dart enthusiast, vintage car restorer and lover. He was a self made intellect who conversed on any and every subject and a man who travelled the world. Nick loved deeply but quietly – Nick will return to his home to stay after cremation.
