

GREER, M. Ralph – Peacefully, at Peterborough Regional Health Centre on Friday, Sept.11, in his 88th year. Devoted husband & best friend of Margaret (nee Scott) of almost 64 years. Predeceased by his parents, Roy and Bena Greer & brother John (surviving wife Doreen). Proud father of Gary (Barbara, predeceased), Brian (Debra) and Paul. Dear brother of Bob (wife Betty). Lovingly remembered by grandchildren Jason (Kim), Jeremy, Shannon (Edward), Kelley (Shaun), Adam, Laurie (Jeff), Lisa (Trevor) , Lorna, Erica, Andrew and great-grandchildren Elizabeth, Brenden, Alana, Sylvana & the late Neleha. Also remembered by several nieces, nephews and their families. Born & raised on the family farm in Bailieboro, Ralph enlisted in the RCAF. He served his country during WWII at Goose Bay, Labrador, and was honourably discharged with the rank of LAC. Ralph farmed, drove trucks, bulldozers & buses & retired as manager of operations for Laidlaw Coach Lines in Lindsay & area. He was a former member of the Air Force Club, Peterborough Wing & active Rotarian, Lindsay Chapter. Larger than life with an infectious laugh, Ralph was quickly respected & made instant friends with whomever he met. Many thanks to the staff & residents of Sherbrooke Heights Retirement Home who were so welcoming when Ralph & Marg recently moved in. A private family service will be held at Comstock Funeral Home, Peterborough followed by internment at Rosemount Memorial Gardens, Rev. Tom Cunningham officiating. Friends are invited to attend a celebration of Ralph’s life at a place & time to be announced.
