

On Sunday, February 2nd, 2014 in his 87th year, Bob passed away peacefully at Peterborough Extendicare after a long struggle with Alzheimer's. He is survived by his loving wife Heather (MacLachlan, married 62 years), children; Christopher (Debra Pollock) of New Liskeard, Ruth McDonald (Murray) of Elliot Lake, Harold (Marion André) of Ottawa and Mary Taylor (Blair) of Kingston. He also leaves behind a sister Barbara Westley (Robert) of Ottawa. He was a proud grandfather of Isaac (Emma Krasnozen), Sam, Emily (Brendan Janssen) Blount, Christina MacPherson (Dan Brennan) of Calgary, Anne, Duncan, Elizabeth (Mike Chou) McDonald, Jennifer (Sam Brown) and Rob Taylor. Bob worked for Canadian General Electric as a Professional Engineer for 32 years and spent much of his retirement volunteering in community service. Bob loved to play the piano, his children and grandchildren remember falling asleep to his music when they were small. Bob was also a passionate French language student. In everything he did, Bob knew how to bring a smile to all. He will be sadly missed. Visitation will be held from 2-4 pm on Friday, February 7th at COMSTOCK FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 356 Rubidge Street, Peterborough, Ontario, 705-745-4683. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, February 8th, 2014 at TRINITY UNITED CHURCH, 360 Reid Street, Peterborough. The family wishes to thank caregivers at the VON Adult Day Program in Peterborough, Pleasant Meadow Manor in Norwood and Peterborough Extendicare for their excellent care and compassion.
