Beloved husband of Helen and father of Barbara Gilbert (Rick), Eric Davis, Ruth Spencley (Larry John MacKay) (Jim 2005) and Shirley Vollett (Jim) and much loved by his 8 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He is survived by his sister, Emily Tripp (Mervyn) and sister-in-law Doris Currie. Born August 7, 1919 to Isaac and Margaret (nee Dixon) Davis, Bob was the ninth of eleven children. Growing up on the family farm in the Ottawa Valley, he loved being surrounded by extended family. As a young man, Bob became a World War II Veteran, serving in the Air Force for 4 years, specializing in radar. He married Helen Bingham in 1944, enjoying 74 happy years of marriage. Bob graduated from Queens in 1949 with a degree in electrical engineering and happily embarked on a 32-year career with Ontario Hydro. After retiring, Bob taught computer skills to seniors and electrical courses at Sir Sanford Fleming College. At the age of 63, he embarked on a 2-year contract with CIDA, training young engineers in Bangladesh. He and Helen enjoyed many travels together. On returning to Canada, Bob served for 19 years as the volunteer treasurer at Activity Haven and enjoyed golf and curling into his early 90’s at the Peterborough Golf and Country Club.
