Robert James Frederick Hayes Hayes

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the very sudden, unexpected passing of Robert James Frederick Hayes, at the age of 73, on Wednesday October 15 2025 at Peterborough Regional Health Centre. Robert was surrounded by those who loved him most.

Robert leaves behind his beloved wife of over 48 years, Anita (Trull) and his daughters Erin Ahee (Adam) and Kendra Hayes (Dewayne Mingo). Robert was a very proud Grandpa to his 3 cherished grandchildren Zachary and Keegan Ahee and Charlie Mingo.

Robert is survived by his sister Brenda Boyd (Bob Holmes) and his nephew Chad Boyd. He is predeceased by his Mom, Betty (June 6 1972), his brother Bill (June 6 1983) and his Dad Jay (Aug 5 2014). Robert also leaves behind countless other family and friends who all loved him dearly.

Robert dedicated 39 years to GE Peterborough where he worked as a Machinist.

Robert was a salt of the earth kind of guy. To know him was to love him. He was a man of great integrity who valued each and every friendship he made throughout his entire life. There wasn’t anywhere Robert went where he didn’t run into an old friend to share a story or have a laugh with.

His absence leaves a space that can never truly be filled — a quiet reminder of the man whose presence was larger than life, whose laughter, kindness, and strength will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
