Bob passed away at Peterborough Regional Health Centre (PRHC) on September 22, 2026 at the age of 87.
Bob was the beloved husband of Nancy Kelly (Snider) for over 62 years. Loving father of Kathy McDermid (Doug), Lisa Kelly (d. 2019), and Cindy McCredie (Scott). Proud Grandpa, (Popsie) to Emily Stewart, Caileigh McDermid, and Hanna McDermid, as well as Step-Grandpa to Riley, Tanner, and Connor McCredie.
Bob was predeceased by his parents, John Kelly and Charlotte Garvey, his brother Jackie (1948), his sister Viola McIntyre (Craig), and his brother-in-law Paul Snider (Doris). He is survived by his siblings Joyce Wilshaw (Rick) and Jim (Margo), and his sister-in-law Marie Morrison (Pius d. 2008) and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Bob was the original owner of Bob Kelly's Automotive Repair, which he operated for 34 years. In his retirement, he enjoyed driving a highway coach for organized tours. He was a self-taught fiddler who played with several local bands throughout his life such as Woodland Express and Chandos. He was also an accomplished woodworker who enjoyed creating furniture and other projects for family and friends.
In his spare time, Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and ATVing. He had a lifelong love of antique cars, especially Fords. He also enjoyed camping and spending time outdoors.
Bob will be remembered for his integrity, practical skills, love of music, and dedication to his family.

Visitation at Ashburnham Funeral Home (Armour Rd. Peterborough) on Sunday, September 27 from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm. Funeral service at 12:00 pm, reception to follow. Interment at 9th Line Cemetery, Morton Line Cavan on Monday, September 28 at 11:00 am.
