Robert Percival Nelson

September 8, 1952 - June 9, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert Percival Nelson on June 9, 2025. Born on September 8, 1952, Bob was a beloved father, grandfather, and friend. He is survived by his children, Bobby Nelson, Ben Nelson, and Emily Nelson, as well as his two cherished grandchildren, Anna and Abby Nelson. He is also survived by his sister Bonnie Nelson, brother Brad (Marilyn) Nelson, sister Beth (John) Nelson-Bartley, sister Tracey (Peter) Goodwin, and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Carman and Marie Nelson and brother Roger Nelson.

Bob was a proud member of Local 793 of the International Union of Operating Engineers since 1987. As a skilled heavy equipment operator, he worked across the country, often for the pipeline, leaving a lasting impact wherever he went.

An avid outdoorsman, Bob found joy in hunting, fishing, and any activity that brought him closer to nature. He was also known for his storytelling, sharing detailed and humorous tales that brought laughter to all who listened, a gift he shared until the very end.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Bob's life will be held on Saturday July 26, 2025 from 1-4 pm at the Buckhorn Community Centre, 1782 Lakehurst Road, Buckhorn.
