Passed away unexpectedly in the comfort of his family at Peterborough Regional Health Centre on Thursday, August 6, 2026, in his 79th year.
Ron was the beloved husband of 45 years to the late Janet Ethel Marie Brown (née Mahar). He was the cherished father of Jason Brown (Catherine McLenaghan) of Ottawa and Shannon Kurz (Jason Kurz) of Peterborough, and proud "Papa" of Trinity and Charity Kurz.
He was predeceased by his parents, William and Ruth Brown, and his siblings, Wayne R. Brown, Lawrence R. Brown, and Marilyn R. Brown. Ron is survived by his brother, Royal (Roy) Walter Brown and his wife Karen of Ottawa, ON, as well as many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
Strong in his faith, Ron lived a life of quiet service and devotion. He was actively involved in his parish, faithfully caring for the sanctuary, and was a dedicated member of the Knights of Columbus.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 19th from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Comstock-Kaye Life Celebration Centre, 356 Rubidge St., Peterborough. A Mass to Celebrate Ron’s Life will be held on Thursday, August 20th at 10:00 a.m. at Cathedral of St. Peter-in-Chains, 411 Reid St., Peterborough. Interment at St. Peter's Cemetery, Peterborough
