Roy Stillman had a way of putting us at ease. The anticipation in his smile, the humour in his eyes, the warmth of his voice, all made a visit with Roy a true pleasure.  

A good storyteller, he remembered the positive. He counted himself fortunate to have had all that he had -- caring parents; a sweetheart who became his bride, the mother of his children and his life-long companion; and an opportunity to accomplish his heart’s desire – the sound farming enterprise he started from scratch, built with determination and hard work and then managed with family help. He put much effort into life and contributed much to the lives of those who came close to him. Roy was satisfied with the returns he was blessed with, from family, farm, and friends.

Roy was a man comfortable with all that life afforded him: the large family he headed with kindness and humility, the rewards that justly came his way, and the companions with whom he shared generously throughout his life.

It was my pleasure to know you Roy, and to have enjoyed our friendship. God bless you!

We have lost a wonderful man, kindest soul, loveable laugh.  My fondest memories are Uncle Roy telling me to put salt on a bird's tail to tame them, back when you had the budgies in the cage at the house.  And when I went fishing down at the cottage and caught a snapping turtle instead.  I'm very proud to have called him "Uncle", and I'm sure the same for you 4 to have called him "Dad".  May he rest in peace after a life well lived!
