SUMAK, Muriel Ruth (nee Paul) - WWII Veteran, serving with the RCAF – Peacefully at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre on Monday October 30, 2023 in her 100th year. Beloved wife of the late Leonard Stephen Sumak (2007). Loving mother of Bob Sumak (Doree) of Oakville, Barbara Wojceik (John) of Peterborough and Patricia Knecht (Bill) of Calgary. Dear grandmother of Marion Danko (Marc), Gary Sumak (Kendra), Kevin Straus (Amanda), Brandon Hare, Stephanie Dodds and Jacqueline Dodds. Great-Grandmother of Sienna, Ella, Jonah, Ben, Nora, Amber, Gavin, Caliah and Kayden. Ruth will also be missed by her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her brothers Reg Paul (Zenia) and Ray Paul (Marie) and her sister Phyllis O’Connor (Clarence). Ruth was a World War II veteran serving with the R.C.A.F. Visitation will be held Saturday November 4, 2023 at the Comstock-Kaye Life Celebration Centre, 356 Rubidge Street, from 11:00 am to 12:15 pm. Service will be held in the chapel at 12:30 pm. Followed by a reception. Interment Emily Cemetery, Omemee. In memory of Ruth donations may be made to the PRHC Foundation or the Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Fund.
