I recall a lovely photograph when Sharon received an OPS award to congratulate her on her volunteer work of fostering puppies for the Guide Dogs organization. The photo was of Emily, as a sweet little toddler, playing with a puppy. She was a true advocate for human-animal bonds.

I was so devastated to hear of Sharon's passing.  She and I worked together at the Ministry of Environment close to 15 years ago (I think). When she left the branch, we kept in touch with each other over the years, mostly by email, always sharing pictures and updates on our lives  life for her and Emily, the guide dogs, her ongoing renovations etc.  And I, in turn kept her updated on my grandchildren and my plans to retire next year.  

I did got to meet her dear, sweet little Emily a few years back when the 3 of us spent an afternoon together in Toronto.  Sharon was such a caring and giving person, always laughing and of course, always smiling.  Although we did not see each other in recent years, we did keep in touch and I will miss her greatly.  My thoughts and prayers are with you dear, little Emily and family. Rest in Peace my friend!

   I met Sharon a few years ago when she was a CO in Parry Sound.  The issue was a deer, wounded by other hunters, that we had tracked and killed.  We had no use for it, so Sharon found some one who needed the meat, and took it to them.  I was most impressed by her effort and dedication.

I met Sharon and Emily in 2010 when they travelled from Parry Sound to Peterborough with Vibes, their Lions Foundation Dog Guide foster puppy.  Sharon spoke at the official launch of MNR's Southern Region Diversity Team, sharing her experience fostering Dog Guide puppies. Sharon's heartfelt enthusiasm and obvious commitment to the Lions Foundation program inspired many people that day.  More recently Sharon and I had a shared vision of helping Robinson Place become a work environment that includes Dog Guide puppies while still accommodating the needs of those with allergies or other concerns.

I was delighted when I realized that MNRF's transformation this past spring had put us in the same Branch and I was looking forward to getting to know Sharon better. I will miss her, and mourn our loss of such a bright star. Thinking of you Emily, and the rest of Sharon's family and friends.

We were neighbours of Sharon and Emily in Seguin. Sharon was a great neighbour and friend. We watched Sharon's excitement grow as things fell into place with Emily.  The look on Sharon's face the day Emily arrived will be etched in our memories forever.  Sharron will be missed greatly and our hearts go out to Emily and family.

I have had the pleasure of knowing Sharon professionally as a field Conservation Officer and a Legislation Specialist with the MNRF. I have also had glimpses of her as a caring mother and as a compassionate member of her community. As often as not our workplace conversations would start with an update on our children and end with her latest adventures with a home renovation gone wrong  somewhere in-between there was the business at hand. Although the personal link was always central Sharon was passionate about her work too. What I most admired was Sharon's ability to bring new and valuable perspectives to a conversation. She was a careful listener, she asked good questions and when asked for her opinion Sharon had the courage of her convictions. Smart, compassionate, full of fun and courageous - I will miss all of that.

So sad.  Our thoughts are with Emily at this time.

I am struck with sadness with news on the passing of Sharon. She was a treasure at work, always taking the time to see how your day was, ensuring you knew there were goodies in the lunch room. She always spoke with great pride about her Emily who we always loved see skip down the hall. My thoughts are will all of you as you deal with such sad news. She will be missed by many of us but left a lasting impression and helped teach us to be kind to each other.

Sharon is gone way too soon.  My prayers are for Emily and her family.

Years ago Sharon and I were visiting a relative in Montreal, we went to a farmers market, saw a kiosk for ear piercing and we each got a third hole pierced. 
I also remember we were on a GO train in Toronto and Sharon burst into song.

There are no words that I can write which can ease our collective heart ache. My wish for Sharon's family, Emily in particular, is that they find some comfort knowing that Sharon touched so many lives with her bright smile and easy going nature. These people are now praying and thinking of you, Emily. Your mother loved and adored you.

My condolences to the family and our thoughts are with Emmie. We shared a lot of laughs.

In the short time that I knew her, I learned a lot from Sharon...especially about breaking down barriers. She had such a creative side, even her cubicle was attractive and inviting - a cubicle!!! We spent a fair amount of time discussing chickens, dogs, how to do renovations and weird things about fisheries-related legislation. Her Friday 'girls night out' with Emily were sacred and she often arrived at work showing the products; special cupcakes, newly manicured hands... She will be deeply missed.

My heart is heavy with the news of Sharon's passing. There was never a dull moment with Sharon around. Dear little Emily, I am thinking of you with my whole heart and sending you love.

Sharon was a wonderful storyteller, and the tales of her life as a Conservation Officer, her menagerie of pets and ongoing home renovations brought laughter to our work place.  Whenever she spoke of her dear Emily (which was often), she would always smile and glow with pride. Sharon was an amazing person and will be truly missed.

So sorry of hearing if Sharon's passing. Special thanks to Sharon and Emily too for caring and fostering Jack (aka Taylor) before he was headed to LFDGC   Your family will always be special to Taylor and myself.

Very sorry for the loss of Sharon so early in life. Many fond memories of working with her in and around Quetico. She came to my retirement dressed in full turkey hunting camo what a laugh. Sadly missed!
