Died peacefully at the Peterborough Regional Hospital having been attended by her sister Laura Dunbar, brother-in-law John Milloy, brothers Michael (Catherine) and Andrew (Janine), and her nephew and nieces. Beloved daughter of Margaret and Geoffrey Craven of Victoria BC, Susan served many Prime Ministers of Canada for 34 years in the Privy Council Office and the Prime Minister’s Office. Joining the Public Service of Canada in 1979 as a member of a special program under the direction of Pierre Trudeau and Suzanne Azzie, Susan delivered correspondence to Ministers and senior managers, became computer-literate, earned promotion and praise from her superiors, enjoyed the company of her fellow Public Service Alliance of Canada members, and became a regular supporter of the Ottawa Little Theater. Our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Vladimir Ilivitsky of the Royal Ottawa Hospital, doctors and nurses of the Ottawa General Hospital, the Peterborough Regional Hospital’s Palliative Care unit and 3rd Floor nurses who cared for Susan with great compassion, and all her doctors whose thoughtfulness was infinite. A private interment will take place at Hensall, Ontario later this year. If desired, memorial contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society would be much appreciated by the family.
