It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Thomas "Tom" William Joseph Heffernan, a devoted Dad, Grandpa, brother, farmer, and friend. Beloved son of the late Ambrose Heffernan and Betty Zilinski.
Tom was a man whose roots ran deep. Raised on the family farm, he carried his love of farming throughout his entire life. He was the happiest on the farm, whether working in the fields, tending to the barnyard, or simply enjoying the land that meant so much to him.
Tom was a true community man. He was always willing to lend a helping hand, offer a listening ear, or stop by for a visit when someone was going through a difficult time. His kindness, generosity, and quiet presence touched countless lives and left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Above all else, Tom cherished his family. His grandchildren were the apple of his eye and brought him endless joy. They could always bring a smile to his face. The love he shared with them will remain one of his greatest legacies.
Those who knew Tom will remember the sparkle in his eyes. His eyes often told a story before words were spoken, reflecting his warmth, humour and caring nature. Even in his final days that familiar twinkle could light up a room and bring comfort to those around him.
Tom will be lovingly remembered by his children: Thomas(Sarah), Christine(Lukasz), Lyn, Steven(Elaina), and Ashley. He was the proud Grandpa to Everleigh, Hadleigh, Rhett, Emma, Wyatt, Eliah-May, Beatrice, and Savannah.
Tom is also survived by his siblings and many nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to Robin who cared for Tom for so many years and to the B3 nursing staff that cared for him in his final weeks.
There will be a celebration of life at "The Farm" 2794 Dillon Road, Keene to be held on August 8th between the hours of 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
