June 11, 1980 - January 17, 2026
After a brave, 5 month battle with cancer, our precious Trystan died on the morning of January 17th, 2026, at the age of 45.
Born in Peterborough, Trystan spent his first 5 years living on a farm near Bailieboro, before moving to Scarborough and then Toronto. Trystan attended Birch Cliff P.S., Birchmount Park C.I., and George Brown College, before joining the Millwrights in Local 2309, for the majority of his career.
Trystan and his love of 24 years, Dawn, moved back to the Peterborough area to fulfill their dream to live on the water and spent 5 years enjoying the outdoors, every day.
Trystan is survived by Dawn, who was with him every step of the way during his illness, parents Vivien and Mike, in-laws Linda and Kevin, sisters and brothers-in-law, Sarah and Glynn, Miranda and Ryan, and Paul, niece Myfanwy, nephews Nathan, Beckett, Aidan, and Finley, and his beloved cat, Murray.
Trystan never lost his early love of nature and being outdoors, his joy in listening to and discovering new music, or his passion for fishing. He was an excellent cook, a great guy to have on a canoe trip, a quietly hilarious person to be around, and he will be deeply, and irreplaceably missed.
With gratitude for the care and kindness of the health care teams at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre, Saint Elizabeth Health Care, and Peterborough Hospice, donations to these in Trystan’s memory, would be appreciated.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
