Wayne Francis Blaby

BLABY, Wayne Francis passed away peacefully on Thursday May 29th, 2025 at Peterborough Regional Health Centre at the age of 75 years. Son of the late Mary Laura Blaby (nee Storey) and Jack Francis Blaby. Loving father of Gregory (Adrianne), Adam, and Matthew (Nook). Proud grandfather of Faith, Hope, Ally, Charity, Lauren, Emmett, Jack, Ashley, Keiko, Alexander, Emmasyn, and several great grandchildren. Dear brother of Robert (Joanne). Sadly missed by his nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Wayne was extensively involved with the Cavan/Millbrook community, often supporting ventures from local businesses, as well as the Lion's Club, the Legion, 4th Line Theatre, the Millbrook BIA, and St. John's Anglican Church, Ida. A sports fan, Wayne coached and boosted for the Cavan Blazers softball team, Millbrook Bobcats ice hockey, and the Peterborough Minor Lacrosse Association. Supporting Century 21 Peterborough Lakers and Peterborough Petes was a big part of his life. He made many life long friendships at the arena. Wayne also served on the board of the Peterborough Liftlock Atom Hockey Tournament for many years.

Wayne was a doer and a helper at his core. He had many small businesses and enterprises. One of these being Computer Solutions Plus. Through his connections and generosity he would refurbish used laptops and donate them to support the ongoing mission in Belize. Wayne made a point of sharing his knowledge and expertise with the community by offering classes aimed at helping people learn how to use their computers.

The family will receive friends on Monday June 9th, 2025 from 11:00am - 12:00pm at the Comstock-Kaye Life Celebration Centre, 356 Rubidge St., Peterborough. A funeral service will follow in the chapel at 12:00pm. Burial to take place at Rosemount Memorial Gardens, following a reception. In honour of Wayne, donations to SickKids, the Make-a-Wish Foundation Canada, Ronald McDonald House, or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by his family.
