Ada Bergen

Ada and Jim were married on June 3, 1938. In the 1940’s she worked for Kodak in Rochester, NY working the swing shift with Jim. When Jim joined IBM they moved with their young family to Hyde Park, NY where Ada was able to be closer to her family.

In the 1950’s they relocated to Owego, NY. After retirement Ada and Jim loved to travel in their motorhome around the United States and Canada. In 1980 they joined their children in Round Rock, TX where they both became active members of AARP.

Ada is predeceased by her parents Clara and Jacob Forman; her sister Francis and husband Milton Fleisher; brothers Alex Forman and wife Dottie, and Bernie Forman and wife Muriel; and brother-in-law, Henri Wolkoff.

She is survived by her sister, Nan Wolkoff (91) of Round Rock; her son, Daniel J. Bergen and his wife Bonna E. Bergen of Livingston, TX; her daughter, Miriam A. Rouse and her husband Gerald L. Rouse of Round Rock, TX; her granddaughters, Lisa (Rouse) Moses and her husband Jason Moses of Washington, DC; Cara (Bergen) Carlson and her husband Tobin B. Carlson of Houston, TX; her grandson, Michael K. Rouse and his wife Carrie McDonald Rouse of Portland, Oregon. Ada also has 5 great grandchildren, Kariana E. Carlson, Ian and James Rouse, Sophie and Joshua Moses. She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Ada’s greatest love was taking care of Jim and their children. She was an excellent cook and loved to bake and sew. She loved to entertain her friends and family with delicious dinners. Ada was an avid reader and enjoyed writing poetry. She was loved by all who knew her as a kind and gentle person. She saw good in everyone she met.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, June 15th at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery, North IH 35, Pflugerville, TX.
