

Cooking was a passion she enjoyed both at work and home. She retired after 21 years of service at a University of Texas dormitory, Kinsolving as a food service worker. She always had a smile for everyone and enjoyed any time she could spend "chatting" with others. Her favorite pasttimes included Seek and Find Word puzzles, watching Family Feud, cheering on both the Longhorns and the Cowboys, and watching movies. Especially when she could watch anything with John Wayne or Elvis Presley.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ramon F. Martinez, Sr., son and daughter- in- law, SP4 US Army Samuel T. and Patricia S. Martinez and daughter-in-law, Karen Lynn Wauson Martinez.
Left to honor Amelia and remember her love are her sons, SSGT. Ramon F. Martinez, Jr. (US Army, Retired) and wife Cindy, Leonard Martinez, SSGT. Alfred Martinez (US Marines, Retired) and wife Gloria, John J. Martinez and wife Anita, William Martinez and wife Jane: One daughter, Diana Martinez Serna and husband Jesus. She is also survived by 23 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
The Martinez family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Grace Hospice-Austin, most specifically Amelia's CT nurses and social worker for their attentiveness and loving care.
Visitation will be from 5-8pm Monday, October 16, 2017 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 N. IH-35, Pflugerville, TX. A Rosary will follow from 7-8pm. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at 10:00am at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church, 1520 N. Railroad Ave., Pflugerville, TX. Burial will follow at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville.
