Anna Rae Bartholomew of Austin, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2021.
Born in Benton, Louisiana November 14, 1932, Anna Rae married Jerry, a lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force on December 9, 1955. They thoroughly enjoyed their 20 years in the Air Force. Following Jerry’s return from Vietnam, they moved to Austin and have lived there since.
Jerry and Anna Rae were members of Great Hills Baptist Church for the past 20 years. Anna Rae assisted with Vacation Bible School and Jerry sang in the choir.
Anna Rae was preceded in death by her daughter, Cindy Thomas; parents, Harvey and Laura Dalrymple; and two brothers, B. W. and Jerry Dalrymple.
Survivors include her husband Jerry; two sons, Michael (wife Carla) and Stephen Bartholomew. Also surviving is her former son-in-law, John Thomas, who continued watching over Anna Rae’s family during her illness. Additionally, there are seven grandchildren, Shannon, Kyle, Katie, Tommy, Adam, Jaron and Steven; along with 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Anna Rae was the world’s greatest grandmother according to them all and she will be tremendously missed.
Anna Rae’s family will receive friends between 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., Thursday, February 11, 2021 at the Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 12, 2021 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Ross Hartsfield of Great Hills Baptist Church officiating. Committal will follow at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery.
Due to the current COVID protocols, guests are required to wear protective face masks at all times and practice the recommended six foot social distancing.
