Anna was born September 21, 1927, in Austin Texas, the youngest of seven children by Lebanese immigrants Salem and Elizabeth (Daywood) Abraham. She went on to graduate from Austin High School in 1949.
Anna met her husband Tommy in the early 1950s while he was an airman stationed at Bergstrom Air Force Base. They married on September 20, 1953, at St. Mary's Cathedral in Austin, Texas, and enjoyed 68 years together before his death in 2022.
Family was the center of Anna’s world, and she and Tommy were blessed with four children, eight grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren. In her downtime she loved spending time with her family cooking Lebanese dishes, playing Blitz, Bingo, and keeping her mind sharp through puzzles and games. She treasured the time spent with family and friends at church, parks, and the lake. Anna was also known for her wicked sense of humor, and family and friends were always prepared for her zingers.
As her children got older, Anna began her career at Texas Instruments in Austin when they opened in 1969. She enjoyed the fifteen years she spent at TI and formed friendships that lasted decades.
Anna was a long-time member of Saint Albert the Great Catholic Church in Austin where she regularly attended mass. Her faith carried her throughout her life, and she is celebrating her rewards in Heaven. Anna was the last of her generation in the family and was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Thomas Valcourt, son Andrew Valcourt, son-in-law Charles Spivey, parents Salem and Elizabeth, and all of her siblings.
Anna is survived by her three daughters: Diana (DeeDee) Simpson (Jay), Linda Valcourt, and Denise Valcourt. She was blessed with eight grandchildren: Daniel (Dominique), Drew (Melissa), Kyle (Heather), Celeste (Jon), Kelly (Russell), Tyler, Marshall (Amy), and Becky, as well as 10 great grandchildren: Lorelei, Easton, Kaycen, Ariah, Alexandra, Daniel, Cassandra, Rowan, Athena Tilly, and MacKenzie. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, several of whom she enjoyed corresponding with over the years.
The family would also like to acknowledge the lovely couple that cared for Anna in the last months of her life. Will and Sana provided exceptional care and comfort to Anna and brought peace during this final journey to those who loved her.
