April Anita (Nita) Ayers Williams, born July 9, 1943, in Austin Texas passed away peacefully on Friday, July 26, 2024, with her loving husband Charles Williams by her side. She is dearly loved by her family and many lifelong friends.
Nita was preceded in death by her parents Martin and Dottie Ayers and two of her loving sons, Bradley Craig Williams, and Randle Todd Williams.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Charles Irvin Williams of Austin Texas, son Ryan Scott Williams and wife Tarina and granddaughter Alyssa. Also mourning her passing, brother Terry Ayers and wife Barbara; brother Randy Ayers and wife Marsha, additionally, several nieces and nephews who love and cherish her memory.
Nita was a 1961 graduate of A.N. McCallum HS where she developed many lifelong friendships and “besties” who brought her extraordinary joy, love, and support her entire life. Nothing was more important to Nita than Family. She dedicated her full focus, energy, and passion to her loving husband and raising their three children, providing them with a wonderful life.
Nita also made time for a professional career. Just out of high school, she worked as Assistant to the Director of the TxDPS. For many years she was a Caseworker in The American Red Cross in service to the Armed Forces Program. In the mid 1970’s she joined the family jewelry business as design consultant, custom pearl and bead stringing, and Manager of Sales and Special Orders. A strong advocate for children with special needs, she served on the Board of Goodwill Industries for 15 years and created many opportunities for training and jobs. She spent many years supporting and cheering for the athletes of the Special Olympics. Nita had a huge, loving heart and it was solid Gold.
Nita’s greatest joy and talent was cooking and hosting our family holiday celebrations, especially Thanksgiving and Christmas. She was a Master in the kitchen and a fantastic cook. Just like her mother, her meals and desserts are legend. Holidays and Christmas will never be the same without her running the show. She lives on in our hearts and many, many memories.
The Family is forever grateful for the love and support from her countless friends and exceptional neighbors. Special thanks to Tarina Williams for always being there for our dear sweet Nita during her challenging times. Heartfelt thanks to Buckner Villas Senior Living Community for their outstanding professional care.
