Aurelio was born on October 18, 1945, in El Canelo, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, to Hermelinda Olivares Ramos and Maurilio Martinez Beliz. Known for his hard work, kind heart, and unwavering support, Aurelio led a life of dedication and service. He served in the Mexican Military for two years before working as a welder with Austin Engineering Company for 45 years. His commitment to his family and community was unparalleled, and his wisdom and devotion left a lasting impact on everyone he encountered.
After immigrating to the United States, Aurelio met and married his loving wife of 40 years, Espiridiona “Pio” Martinez. Their love and partnership were a testament to the strength of family bonds. Aurelio was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, siblings Simona Martinez and Evelio Martinez, his daughter Dolores Posada, and his granddaughter Rosanna Rodriguez.
Aurelio is survived by his children: Celia A. Velazquez, Hector Martinez (Aurelia), Senaida Rodriguez (Carlos), Graciela Martinez Rojas (Hilario), Andrea Barratachea, Irene Martinez Rojas (Jose), and Aurelio Martinez Rojas (Martha Eunice). He is also survived by his grandchildren: Veronica, Joseph, Hector Jr, Erasmo, Viviana, Jayde, Raven, Leticia, DeAnna, Carl, Fernando, Carlos, Eduardo, Maria Celeste, Leoncio, Felicia, Sylvia, Edgar, Brayan, Paola, and Marcela, as well as 38 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
The family will greet guests from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and the Most Holy Rosary will be recited on Thursday, February 13th, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. at Cook-Walden / Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville, Texas. The Rite of Christian Burial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, February 14th, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Cristo Rey Catholic Church, 2208 E. 2nd St, Austin, Texas. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden/ Capital Parks Cemetery.
The pallbearers will be David S. Silvas, Fernando Martinez, Joseph A. Posada, Leoncio Hernandez III, Rolando Rodriguez, and Carl C. Barboza. Honorary Pallbearers include Robert L. Lopez, Anthony M. Sepeda, Ivan A. Lopez, Santana Hernandez, Jeronimo Hernandez, and Alejandro J. Morales.
Aurelio’s legacy of love, hard work, and sacrifice will forever be cherished by all who knew him. He will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of his family, and his influence will continue to guide us in our lives.
