Silly little thing to recall,  but i remember her saying to always add almond extract and powdered sugar to a box cake mix.  It does make for a very delicious couldn’t be from a box cake!  I LOVE that a picture of her holding up a box cake mix was included in the tribute video online. It brought a big smile to my face to see it. Perfection. I loved her Christmas village too. I could get lost for hours imagining scenes in each house nestled in fake blankets of snow.  It was magical to see.  I love knowing she enjoyed her Christmas villages one last time. That’s so special. What an immeasurable impact she made on so many. What a remarkable woman! 

My cousin, Barbara Ann Stark was born into a very unique family relationship. It was blessed by sisters marrying brothers, living across the street from each other, owning a business together, and sharing joint bank accounts. She was the only child that I know that received love and nurturing from 4 Godly parents who loved Jesus and taught her a valuable lesson--serve others with the talents God gave you! From a very early age she learned how to cook, sew, visit older people and share her love of arts and crafts with them. 
It was always a pleasure to visit with Barbara Ann and Marvin. I cherish a time when we renewed our friendship when I had moved from Arlington to Beaumont, TX for a new job. My parents were going on a week long trip to the Caskey cabin on Lake Buchannan and I wanted to see them and have fun at the lake. I bought an airline ticket from Houston to Austin so they could pick me up and take me to the lake. There was a car wreck on my trip to the airport and traffic was stopped, so by the time I made it to the airport the gate was closed and my flight just left. I talked to the gate attendant and asked when the next flight left. It wasn't until 9:30 pm so I asked her if she would get a message to my parents that I would be on that flight. When I arrived in Austin the message never made it and my parents had left the airport. I called Barbara Ann and she said she would pick me up in 15 minutes. At 10:45 pm we were back at their house laughing and talking about old times. She fixed a snack for us and the next time I looked at my watch it was 3:00 am. The next day my parents picked me up and off we went for a relaxing weekend.
When my family went to Austin for a visit with all of the Stark family, you might as well leave your watch at home because we never went to bed until after midnight. We enjoyed every minute we were together and never ran out of things to talk about or eat.  I love you and know you are restored in a perfect body.

I met Barbara after my husband and my wedding ceremony in 1989. She and Marvin travelled to N. Richland Hills from Austin to see Tom, her cousin, and I get married. From the beginning, I could tell she was a very sweet person. Barbara and Marvin were 2 of the very most hospitable and giving people I've every been around! We spent many weekends in their home over the years. We always had so much fun sharing time together. Theirs was a place where we did not care what time it was. Barbara always had good food to eat and plenty of it! She was a fabulous cook and was always prepared to feed many around her table! She was a great encouragement to us, as well, when we were experiencing trials. We always left their home w/ strength to conquer whatever challenge was facing us. She made the most beautiful dolls and made elegant curtains and drapes for her home!
 She could do anything! I also remember how she served her elderly family members no matter how far they lived from her. She and Marvin were continually buying and delivering groceries to their homes, taking them to dr. appointments, or whatever it took to keep them going. She also served Ryan and Lauren's school at Brentwood Christian as a 'room mom', planning parties and providing goodies for them. Her life was full of service to others for which she was richly blessed! Finally, she took wonderful care of her sweet Marvin who suffered from severe arthritis and increasing dementia. Greg and Jeff helped her help Marvin take care of his daily tasks, and she did it with love and grace! This world is not the same without Barbara Ann! She is already missed greatly, and we will be so happy to see her again in heaven one day along w/ Marvin and those family members who have been there for many years. Barbara, THANK YOU for sharing so much w/ us McGregors, and THANK YOU for accepting me as one of your cousins even though I married into the 'Caskey' family! You will forever be in my heart!!

My sweet Aunt Barbara was one of the sweetest,  kindest, and creative individuals that I have ever known.  She was a caregiver to many of her relatives, always making sure their needs were meet. I developed a close relationship to my sweet Aunt Barbara when we cared for our sweet Aunt Frances. I will forever be grateful for that time that we shared together.

Aunt Barbara was very talented and creative. She helped plan and was the decorator of my wedding. She always added a beautiful touch to everything she did, and she did so with excellence!

She was a wonderful baker. My favorite were her oatmeal iced cookie with almond slices. These have become one of my family’s favorite. 

Aunt Barbara was a wonderful seamstress. She made a blanket and pillow for my grandson Barrett as a baby gift. He is now three and has to have his little pillow each night when he goes to sleep.  

I am forever grateful to have been blessed with a wonderful and loving aunt who I will treasure in my heart always.

Barbara Ann was one in a million. She excelled in everything to which she turned her creative hands. Barbara Ann generously shared her time and talents with her many friends and family. This is a woman who will be greatly missed. We praise the Lord for the gift of knowing and being loved by such an amazing woman.
