Beverly JoAnn Sivek

JoAnn was born in Kosse, Texas, to Memory Estelle and Porter Freeman Smith. She grew up in Taylor, Texas, and graduated from Taylor High School in 1947.

She married Lawrence Sivek in 1952 and moved to Austin. Together they owned and operated Sivek Truck Leasing Company for more than 30 years until his death in 1999.

JoAnn was the matriarch and rock of our family. Everyone went to her for wisdom, advise, and problem solving. She always knew the right things to say to comfort us and solve our problems. She loved cooking, gardening, reading, working puzzles, and decorating her home for every holiday. The best times in our lives were at her house for gatherings and holidays. She will be remembered for her wittiness and quick comebacks. She was known to everyone as mom or nannie and loved by so many. Believe it or not, in all her 94 years, she never drank an ounce of alcohol.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Sivek; her parents; her brother, Bruce Smith, who lost his life on D-Day; twin sons; son-in-law Joe Drake; and brother-in-law Terry Struve.

She is survived by her children, Rusty Sivek and wife Cynthia; Carrie Lemke and husband Mark; and Jennifer Drake. Her grandchildren, Tiffany Keszler; Adam Lemke; Abby Guel and husband Blaine; Cody Sivek; step-grandson Cody Drake; and bonus granddaughter Addy Kozak. Great grandchildren Lorel and Brayden Guel. Special sister and best friend Charlene Struve and special Nephew Mitchell Struve. Great nephews Brady and Dawson Struve, many other nieces and nephews; and extended family and friends.

Not a day will go by that we won't miss our mother, with her beautiful soul and spirit. It's been a true blessing to have had her in our lives all these years. Heaven most definitely got the best!

In lieu of flowers, plant a tree in her name.

A visitation for Beverly will be held Wednesday, November 29, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, Texas 78660. A funeral service will occur Thursday, November 30, 2023 at 10:00 a.m., 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, Texas 78660. A graveside service will follow at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville, Texas.
