Carla worked for the Austin American Statesman, obituary department for 10 years. She will be missed by her family and friends whom she shared many happy memories with. She enjoyed shopping with her grandkids, doing crafts, dining out and doing yard work.
Leaving to cherish her memories is her mother, Hellen E. Atkison; her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Kevin Ward; son Russell Nichols; granddaughters, Abigail Nichols, Sarah Ward, Faith Ward, and Grace Ward; and grandson, Liam Ward.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at 10:00 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden Capital Parks.
