Charles Edmund “Eddie” Cole passed away peacefully on February 9, 2021 at his home in Hutto, Texas, after a long fought battle with COPD. Eddie was born on January 3, 1954 in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Charles E. Cole and Nancy Cole.
He graduated from Southside High School in 1972 and later went on to study at Westark University of Arkansas. Eddie established a career in insurance over the past 2 weeks and 47 years (as he would often joke) and was currently working for TWIA at the time of his passing. Eddie was happily married to the love of his life, Kara Cole a.k.a. “Kara Lee”, for nearly 23 years.
Besides spending time with his friends and family, Eddie had many passions and hobbies including flying his drone, riding his Harley, golfing, bowling, singing karaoke (where he met HIS KARA), and painting. His personality was about as strong and confident as they come. Eddie was very knowledgeable and known for being “candid” with people. He humbly touched the lives of many with his mentorship and friendship.
Eddie is survived by his wife, Kara Cole; his daughter, Kelly Holmes, along with her husband, Jake; his granddaughter, Harper Holmes; his brother, Michael Cole, along with his wife, Patti; his nieces, Melissa Cole and Sydney Olson; his great niece, Harper Jacque; his sisters-in-law, Kerry Olson and Esther Cole; his mother-in-law (mom), Peggy Peterson; his cousins, Gary Fisher and John Fisher along with his wife, Carla.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles E. Cole and Nancy Cole; his step-mother, Brenda Cole; and his brothers, Patrick and Shannon Cole.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude towards The Georgetown Pulmonology Center emphasizing Dr. Fields, Dr. Dekeratry, Dr. Mangat, Dr. Nguyen, and Angie Bell. Their care and support were absolutely tremendous during these difficult times. We would also like to recognize St. David’s Hospital of Georgetown, Texas and Altus Hospice.
A memorial service will be held for Charles at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 13, 2021 in the Chapel of Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home; 2900 Williams Drive, Georgetown, TX 78628.
