Born July 22, 1946, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Connie was the daughter of Rev. Walter Blair and Dorothy Blair. Her father was a Baptist minister and missionary who served Native American reservations, and Connie carried with her the quiet strength and faith rooted in that upbringing.
She raised three children—Andrew Allen IV, Thomas Allen, and Naomi (Allen) Gayle—while working as a homemaker. Later in life, she served as a live-in caregiver, offering support and companionship to others before retiring.
Though her life included challenges, Connie remained present at family gatherings and found joy in the small things—playing Uno, walking with friends at St. George’s Court, watching UT football (especially the Thanksgiving rivalry with Texas A&M), and participating in the resident council at her nursing home, where she never shied away from a little friendly politics.
She is survived by her children and their spouses: Andrew and Robin Allen, Thomas Allen and Lindsay Littlefield, and Naomi and Matthew Gayle; her seven grandchildren—Andrew V, Elijah, Claire, Emmett, Owen, Charlie, and Avery—with another grandchild arriving soon; her brother, Harold Blair; and her former sister-in-law and dear friend, Lyndy Slayton. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Walter Blair.
In keeping with her wishes, Connie will be cremated, and a memorial service will be held later this summer to accommodate family travel and the upcoming birth of her newest grandchild.
Her children and grandchildren will carry her memory and continue her legacy.
