Constance "Connie" Owens

Connie is survived by: her son Justin Scott Owens and his wife Pamela, her son Jason Franklin Owens and his wife Camille, her granddaughter Ella Louise Owens, and her granddaughter Abby Marcelyn Owens. She is preceded in death by: her husband Jerroll Dennis Owens, her father Jesse Ernest Coward, her mother Daisy Amelia Crouch Coward, and her brother Jesse Ernest Coward Jr.

Connie was born on August 2nd, 1945 in Austin, TX. She attended Casis, O’Henry, and Austin High graduating in 1963. She continued her education at Southwest Texas State University. In 1968, she married Jerry Owens and went on to have two children, Justin and Jason. She worked as an Administrative Assistant for the Office of General Counsel for UT Systems for over 35 years until retirement in 2005. A devoted wife and mother, Connie was always involved with volunteer activities such as PTA, Boy Scouts, school boosters, and teaching Sunday school at Hyde Park Baptist Church. In addition to raising a family, working full time, and volunteering she enjoyed her extracurricular activities such as cooking, crafting, playing bridge, Mary Kay, watching UT football, and spending time with her family, friends, and grandchildren.

An outdoor funeral service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 22nd at Cook-Walden/Memorial Hill Cemetery located on Interstate 35 just north of Howard Lane, Pflugerville, Texas. Reverend John Hairgrove will officiate the ceremony. A visitation will be held the evening prior from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Connie’s life.
