

Daniel Lucio, age 91, of Austin, Texas, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Rivera, Texas, and lived a long, meaningful life grounded in hard work, love, and deep family ties.
Daniel was a dedicated butcher then manager of Smokey Denmark Sausage for many years; a trade he took great pride in and one that reflected his strong work ethic and commitment to providing for those he loved. He was a man of simple pleasures and steady routines, someone who found joy in the things that mattered most. He loved watching football, especially cheering on the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Longhorns, old western movies, weekends at the casino, and a well-made margarita.
More than anything, Daniel was a family man. His greatest pride and joy was the life he built with his family and the generations that followed. He is survived by his daughters, Gloria Adkins and her husband Bobby, Debra Lucio and her partner Robert Gonzalez, and Cynthia Lucio. He also shared a lifelong bond with Patricia Lucio, the mother of his children, whom he loved dearly.
He leaves behind a large and loving legacy of grandchildren and great grandchildren. From Gloria and Bobby’s family, grandson Daniel Estrada and his wife Krista Schizas-Estrada and their four children, Erin Henderson and her husband Brian and their two children, granddaughter Morgan Uriarte and her husband Marcel and their three children, granddaughter Sierra Bush and her husband Austin and their seven children, and grandson Pierce Adkins and his wife Becky and their two children.
From Debra’s family, granddaughter Amber Cortez and her three children, granddaughter Chelsa Cortez and her three children, granddaughter Danielle Heckman and her husband Cole and their two children, grandson Robert Cortez and his wife Madison and their child, granddaughter Bethany Cortez and her husband Shane Mooney and their two children, grandson Anthony Cortez and his child, and grandson Joshua Cortez.
From Cynthia’s family, granddaughter Allison Marquez and her husband Paul and their three children.
Daniel was preceded in death by his beloved son Daniel “Buck” Lucio, his great grandchild Jordan Cortez, his parents Guadalupe Lucio and Nacidia Alaniz, his stepfather Gaetano Alaniz, his siblings Marcelino Lucio and Gustavo Lucio, and his step siblings Petra, Ramona, Gernanda, Virginia, and Lucino.
Visitation will be held at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Funeral Home & Cemetery, 14501 N Interstate Hwy 35, Pflugerville, Texas 78660, on Tuesday, April 14, 2026.
A service to celebrate Daniel’s life will take place at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Funeral Home & Cemetery,14501 N Interstate Hwy 35, Pflugerville, Texas 78660, on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., followed by burial services.
A reception will follow the burial at 2403 Glen Field Dr., Cedar Park, TX 78613. Food and drinks will be provided.
Daniel will be remembered for his quiet strength, his dedication to his family, and the love he showed in his own steady way. His memory will live on in all who knew and loved him.
