

David was a devoted husband, and a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend to many. He suffered a fatal heart attack while practicing golf in his backyard as he often did.
David was born September 1, 1951 in Texarkana, AR to Clarence Pressely (C.P.) and Marjorie (Margie) Pattillo Johnson. He graduated from John H. Reagan high school in Austin, Texas in 1969, attended the University of Texas, served in the U.S. Air Force, enjoyed a lengthy career with IBM, and subsequently used his computer drafting & design skills with area homebuilders and mechanical contractors. David was also an accomplished mechanic and craftsman, and enjoyed designing & building various products and home-improvements. Dave was a talented golfer and cook, but mostly enjoyed spending time with and entertaining family and friends. He met the love of his life, Carrie Goodnight Johnson, while at IBM and cherished being married to her for over 36 years. David also enjoyed taking Carrie on beach vacations, cooking for her, and caring for her during an extended illness.
David is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Carolyn Johnson Myler. He is survived by his wife, Carrie, brothers Bruce Johnson and wife Debby of Marble Falls and Patrick Johnson of Round Rock, step-son Troy Lovell and wife Suji of San Antonio, step-daughter Carol Middleton and husband John of Austin, son David Weaver of Houston, grandchildren Amanda, Caylee, Kyle, Cody, and Kaci, great grandchildren Gabriel and Connor, and nieces Whitney, Jane, Maddie, and Tess.
A graveside service for David will be 1:00 pm on Friday, April 19, 2024 in the Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville, Texas.
