Della was raised in Elgin, Texas, and later moved to Bloomington, Texas, where she attended Bloomington High School, graduating in 1966. She was a saxophone player in the Bloomington Marching Band.
Della was adventurous and loved vacationing with family and friends, especially her friends Patsy and Judy.
From Bloomington, Della moved to Austin, Texas, where she was employed with Xerox Corporation in Copier Sales for many years. She was a top performer which allowed her to travel extensively to places like Hawaii and the Carribean. She loved her job and meeting new customers. It was while working at Xerox that Della met the love of her life, Jerry. After marrying on May 14, 1991, Jerry & Della made Round Rock, Texas, their home.
After retiring from Xerox, Della enjoyed antiquing and working at the Round Rock Hallmark Store. She had a gift for decorating and loved turning her home into a beautiful masterpiece. Jerry & Della traveled and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Della enjoyed entertaining. She & Jerry opened their home to church workers providing a warm place to sleep and delicious home cooked meals. Her faith was the foundation for how she lived her life - being kind, caring, generous, and spreading cheer to others. Her love for her heavenly Father touched everyone she encountered.
She frequently gave of herself in the custom greeting cards that she made for family and friends, spending hours and putting so much thought into each one, making each one personable for the recipient.
Della continued her ministry of caring and serving others into her final years of life, even while in memory care. Della had a joyful spirit, and it showed.
The family would like to thank the staff at Volente of Round Rock and Embrace Hospice for the quality care that she received over the past few years.
