Diane passed away peacefully in her home on January 11, 2013, surrounded by family who loved her very much.
Diane was born to Walter Mitchell and Ivy Claybourne on June 7, 1944 in Fullerton, California where she was raised with one sister, Bonnie Nelson.
Diane married Bill, the love of her life, 49 years ago on December 7, 1963. They have been inseparable during these 49 years together. They owned a flooring business together for 20 years before managing a storage business where they worked side by side for the past 25 years.
When her husband Bill started race car driving Diane supported his hobby and even took up race car driving herself in the powder puff division. When she wasn't driving race cars she was the score keeper at Corona Raceway.
Diane was the rock of the family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, friend as co-worker, all a role that she took pride in and took very seriously touching everyone’s lives.
Christmas was her favorite time of year and she always made it special for everyone around her not forgetting anyone. Her favorite color is blue and she looked very pretty in yellow, which she wore to match her husband. Her favorite flowers are Calla Lilies and Yellow Roses. She loved the water, loved to paint and loved to go for long drives on Sunday with her husband. Most of all she loved her family.
Diane believed in supporting charities that were close to heart. Without fail a monthly donation was made. She supported the Cancer Society in honor of her Mother and Aunt Wanda, the diabetes foundation in honor of her brother in law and in hopes to find a cure for her son and others, Meals on Wheels and the Red Cross to help those who are in need.
Diane is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Billy L. Lamb, 4 children, daughter Stephanie Hill, son-in-law Prince Hill, daughter Laurie Lamb, son William G. Lamb and daughter-in-law Marlene Lamb, son John T. Lamb and daughter-in-law Lisa Lamb. Her sister Bonnie Nelson, cousin Patty Parretti, and 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren are also surviving.
Serving as pallbearers are William G. Lamb, John T. Lamb, Jermaine C. Rogers, Shane T. Lamb, Joshua C. Hill, and William L. Lamb.
