
Donald Turner Givens, age 73, of Round Rock (formerly of Spring), passed away on April 25, 2017. He was born on May 23, 1943 in Morgan City, Louisiana to Henry Turner Givens and Nellie Faye (Ferguson) Givens. He served in the United States Air Force from 1960 until 1964.
He worked for Sterling Packing & Gasket, Standco Industries Inc. in Houston. He began his career in sales and worked his way up to vice president before his retirement after over 40 years of service with them. Prior to his passing, he was currently serving as the president and board member of Tattor Road MUD in Spring, Texas.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Jana Michelle Givens Almendarez, his parents, Turner and Faye Givens, and his brother-in-law, Mike Kohlman. He is survived by his wife, Pamela Givens, son-in-law, Chris Almendarez and grandsons, Chase and Luke, all of Round Rock; sisters, Barbara Croft (Roy) and Linda Holbrook (Buddy), all of Dayton, TX; brother, Randall Givens of Little Rock, AR; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He loved his family, traveling and watching his grandsons play baseball.
A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 30, 2017 at the United Heritage Center at Dell Diamond, 3400 E. Palm Valley Blvd., Round Rock.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to “Jana’s House” at Family Legacy.com or St. William Catholic Church of Round Rock to benefit the renovation of the softball field in memory of Jana.
