

Doris Pauline “Polly” Hearn Greeson, 91, of Austin, died peacefully Monday morning August 8, 2016 surrounded by her family. She was born to Ernest and Susie Hearn in Choctaw County, Alabama on December 19, 1924. She was united in marriage to Jack Greeson on March 20, 1950 in Gulf Port, Alabama. He preceded her in death on March 7, 1970. They were married for nearly 20 wonderful years. Doris was also preceded in death by her parents and her two brothers Ernest and Leroy Hearn.
Doris is survived by her children Jan Watson, Jack (Brenda) Greeson and Jerry (Stephanie) Greeson and her sister Ernestine (Richard) Allen. As well as her grandchildren: Jennifer (Edward) Perez, Enid (Casey) Walker, Brandon Greeson, and Joshua (Natalie) Greeson; and her great-grandchildren: Carissa, Catherine and Cora Perez; Jonah, Henry, and Elliott Walker; Olivia Greeson. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her absolute joy.
Doris managed a loan office on East Sixth Street in Austin for many years after the death of her husband. She loved to travel, shop, read, play bingo and poker. She was always up for an adventure. She was an amazing cook who enjoyed making meals for her family and friends, making her home welcoming to all. She had a larger than life personality and will be missed greatly.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., on Thursday, August 11, 2016 at Cook-Walden/ Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 N. IH 35, Pflugerville, TX 78660. The funeral service celebrating her life will begin at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 12, 2016 at Cook-Walden /Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville, with a graveside service to follow at Cook Walden Memorial Hill Cemetery.
