Doris Mae Hawley

Doris was born in Oklahoma on May 19, 1917, grew up in Breckenridge, Texas, and spent most of her life in Austin, Texas and the past seven years with her daughter in Houston. She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Austin.

Doris was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Emmett F. Hawley; her daughter, Lila Lee Simpson; and by five siblings.

She is survived by her sister, Clara Belle Kunst of Breckenridge, Texas; her children, son, Tom Hawley and wife Gwen of Breckenridge, Texas; daughter, Sue Patrick and husband Hugh of Pawley’s Island, South Carolina; daughter, Dorothy Short and husband Glen of Houston, Texas; twelve grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. Mother, Mom, Grandmother, we love you.

Services will be held on Monday, April 2, 2012 in the Memorial Chapel of Cook-Walden Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville, Texas. Officiants will be Mrs. Hawley’s grandsons, Dr. Rev. Bobby Hawley of Fort Worth, Texas and Rev. Tom Hawley, Jr. of Kansas City, Missouri.
