Edith was born in Houston, Texas on January 17, 1928 to Louis and Janet Stagner Johnson.
Edith graduated from Sam Houston State Teachers College. While in college, she met her beloved husband, Everett “Judge” Harding. They were both educators in Manor ISD for more than 30 years. She is a longtime member of Manor Methodist Church where she served many years as conference delegate. Edith was also a member of The Order of the Eastern Star. Her two main hobbies were reading and ceramics. She created a large variety of dolls and ceramic pieces that have been and will continue to be enjoyed by many. Edith especially enjoyed creating Nativities for the annual Turkey Dinner held by Manor Methodist Church.
Edith is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 56 years, and son, Jeffery Lynn Harding. She is survived by sons, Malcom “Buddy” Harding; Louis “Butch” (Leah) Harding; grandsons, Luke (Cody) Harding; Paul (Kim) Harding; Derik (Cassandra) Harding; granddaughters, Renee (Jack) Rose, Leslie(Brian) Mulroney; great grandchildren, Emily, Avery, Cooper, Jaymie, Cayson, Brantley, Isaac, Madeline; sister, Johnelle Davis; brother, Lynn (Joan) Johnson; numerous nieces and nephews, friends, and former students.
Under the current circumstances, there will be a small, private service held at this time. A celebration of Edith’s life will be held at a later date.
Graveside Services will be on Tuesday, March 31, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery, 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, Texas 78660.
