

Errol Coleman Murphy, 81, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2022 at St David's Hospital, Round Rock, Texas. Unexpectedly into the arms of his beloved Lord, after a long Illness of Dementia / Alzheimer's.
Mr. Murphy was born February 7, 1941 in Houston to Noah Coleman and Myriam (Rimmer) Murphy.
He was baptized in Church of Christ and later in life he became a Catholic and baptized in St Williams Church at Round Rock, Texas. He attended school in Houston and graduated from Jefferson Davis High School. He later enlisted into the Air Force, April 6, 1960, where he was station Amarillo AFB, TX. He went to school in Chanute AFB, ILL. for A/C & MslGnd Sup Eqp Rpmn one year and return back to Amarillo AFB, TX to attend school in 1962. Major courses in Amarillo AFB Spray De-lcer Opr and Ma-la Gas Turb Compress. He served 3 years, 9 months, 2 days. He re-enlisted January 8, 1964. He served 8 months and 17 days. Total active service 4 years, 5 months, 19 days.
After serving his country, he made his home back in Houston. He worked for number of places, before he found his way to work for NASA. Later he moved on to work for Schlumberger in Houston until they moved him up to Austin. Schlumberger Limited is an oilfield services company. Schlumberger employees represent more than 140 nationalities working in more than 120 countries. Schlumberger has four principal executive offices located in Paris, Houston, London, and The Hague. Schlumberger is the world's largest offshore drilling company.
On March 2, 1979, he married Shirley Ann Hoffmann in Houston, Texas. They were bless with two wonderful boys, Christopher Errol born in Houston and Chad Allen born in Austin. He retired from Schlumberger in 2004, as a Senior Designer Draftsman. He has worked for them for 34 1/2 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Diane and brother-in-law, Doyle; his father-in-law, Johnnie and mother-in-law, Monica Hoffmann; brother-in-law, Tommy Hoffmann; numerous of uncles and aunts; his niece and nephew.
Survivor include his wife of 43 years, Shirley Murphy of Austin; son Christopher of Austin; son and daughter-in-law, Chad and Jessica of Dallas, Georgia; and three grandchildren, Colton of Galveston, and Brantley and Carter of Dallas, Georgia.
A visitation for Errol will be held Wednesday, March 23, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North Interstate 35 in Pflugerville, with a rosary prayer service following at 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will occur Thursday, March 24, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Following the service, he will be laid to rest with military honors at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville.
Honoring Errol as pallbearers will be Johnnie Hoffmann, Jr., Randy Davis, Rick Flores, Ricky Flores, Christian Hoffmann and Donovan Hoffmann.
