Dr. Gary Lynn Cook, a native Texan, was born in Pampa, Texas on August 18, 1947. He was the son of Amis and Oweta Cook and brother of Beverly Ross and Dennis Cook. In 1968 he married and became a devoted husband to Sandra Kaye (Peters) Cook. He was the father of a son, Glenn K. Cook and his wife, Elena O. Cook, and a daughter, LaDonna Cook, and grandfather to a grandson, Keylan Glenn Cook. He passed from this life and into eternal life on August 22, 2023 at the age of 76.
Dr. Gary Lynn Cook studied at Southwestern College of the Bible in Waxahachie, Texas, where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in 1970. Since his graduation, 12 years were devoted to pastoral ministry and 41 years were devoted to around the world missions in evangelism, teaching, music ministry, and as an author.
In 2010, he founded “Peace on Earth International Evangelistic Association”, a 501c non-profit organization, and then later received his honorary doctorate degree in Practical Ministries in 2014 from the Kingdom Institute of Ministry International in Uganda, Africa. He also worked for the State of Texas for many years before he retired.
A visitation for family and friends will be held Saturday, September 2, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM
at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, Pflugerville. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 3, 2023 at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. Following the service, he will be laid to rest at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery.
