Geraldine was born on March 24, 1943, the second child of Amanda Lamascus (Beiersdorfer) and Harvey Lamascus. Her siblings were Judy Lamascus and Harvey Lee Lamascus. During her early childhood, her family were sharecroppers and farmers, working to raise crops and picking cotton. She worked hard even as a child. She attended school in Smithville and later in Sheridan, Texas. She married Donnie Lilie after graduation in 1961, and gave birth to a son, Ronnie, in September of 1961. Later she had a daughter, Connie, in November 1963. She worked as a homemaker early on, raising a garden, canning and preserving food, quilting, and other chores as were common on small farms in those days. She took Red Cross swimming lessons, and made sure her children also passed Red Cross swimming courses. She also began studying the bible and was baptized in Christ. She then began work as a housekeeper in the motel business, and later she attended Blinn College and completed the nursing program in 1977. She made the local paper as having the highest score in her class on the final nursing exam. She married Edwin Saha in the late 1970's, and lived in Sealy for a number of years, working as a nurse at the hospital and later in an adult daycare named Sharing Hearts, which provided a great deal of satisfaction for her. She was also an artist and drew animals and painted pictures that were very high quality. She worked as a nurse for many years, and eventually moved to Tennessee to care for a gentleman suffering from MS. During that time, she continued to garden, quilt, and remained very active. She fell and broke her shoulder, which led to a stroke, slowing her down quite a bit, but she stayed as active as her health allowed. She moved back to Texas and lived with her daughter Connie for several years when her health continued to decline. During her years with Connie, Barbara was a wonderful caretaker for her. Due to extreme health declines the last few months of her life were spent in Shady Oaks Nursing Center, who took good care of her until her passing on February 12, 2026. She lived a life of service and hard work to the very end, and now has gone to her Christian reward
She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Harvey Lee Lamascus, and sister Judy Heptner.
Geraldine is survived by her son Dr. Ronnie Lilie (Iva), her daughter Connie Fox (Andy), Grandsons Benjamin (Viki), and Daniel (Walburga), and great grandchildren Hendrik, Patricia, Rosalie, Elija, Baltisar, Caspar, and family members Jeannette Langer, Sebastian Pearson, and Brian Pearson. She is also survived by many other friends and family members.
