

Gidget Guzman Herrera, born on March 20, 1966, in Austin, Texas, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2024. Her life was a beautiful testament to love, faith, and generosity, leaving an enduring legacy in the hearts of all who knew her.
She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Edward Herrera; her children, David De La Cruz III, Valerie De La Cruz & husband Ryan Garcia, and Felix Herrera; her cherished grandchildren: Alyssa Brynn De La Cruz, Daniel Alvarado, Jacob Garcia, Sean Anthony Garcia, and Eunique Herrera ; her mother, Ruby Romo; her brothers, Sylvester Romo Jr. and Michael Romo; and her father and stepmother, Mack and Patty DeLeon.
A proud graduate of Johnston High School’s Class of 1984, Gidget was an active member of the student council and was known for her vibrant personality and infectious laughter. She brought joy to every gathering and had a deep love for dancing that reflected her spirited nature.
In 2014, Gidget embraced her faith as a CCD teacher at San Jose Church of South Austin alongside her husband Edward. Her compassionate heart and unwavering devotion to helping others were hallmarks of her character. Through acts of kindness and moments of encouragement, she touched countless lives with warmth and selflessness.
Gidget’s memory will forever be treasured by those fortunate enough to have known her. May the joy she brought to others inspire continued acts of kindness and love in the hearts of all she leaves behind. Resting now in eternal peace, she remains forever in God’s embrace.
