Jacqueline Shropshire, 79, passed away in Austin, Texas, on August 1, 2021. “Jackie” was born March 22, 1942, to the late Zack and Geraldine Shropshire. She is survived by her sister, Sue (Lamar) of Georgetown and brother Zack (Julie) of Austin as well as two nieces, Laurie Mazoch (Ivan) and Casey Freisenhahn (Eric) and two nephews Donnie Weiss (Frances) and Darren Weiss (Michelle). She will also be fondly remembered by loving great-nieces and nephews: Matthew, Allyson and Zachary Mazoch; Becca, Nick and Preston Shropshire; Dylan and Dawson Weiss; Seth, Avery, Cash and Jack Freisenhahn; and Beidler and Bella Weiss.
Jackie graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School and attended the University of Texas in Austin. She went to work for the Texas Department of Transportation and retired after over 30 years of dedicated service in the Right of Way Department of the same agency. After retirement, she became a devoted caregiver to her mother. She also enjoyed caring for many of her great-nieces and nephews. She especially enjoyed baking for many occasions and the great-nieces and nephews have fond memories of her making their birthday cakes. She also enjoyed traveling and shopping but most of all spending time with her family.
Jackie was a member of Manor Methodist Church and served for many years as Secretary of the Church Board. She lived in Manor for over 20 years and made many friends during that time. She moved to Pflugerville and lived there until she recently moved into The Pavilion at Great Hills.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister-in-law, Becky Shropshire, and her nephew, Cody Shropshire.
Visitation will be Thursday, August 5, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville. Funeral services will be Friday, August 6, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. with burial to follow at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery.
