

Bladder and Lung Cancer have taken a brilliant and kind man. James Richard Myers, age 74, of Austin passed away on October 1, 2011.
He was born in Yankton, South Dakota to Ernest and Frances Myers. Mr. Myers served his country proudly and honorably in the U.S. Navy. After serving in the Navy, he worked with the State of South Dakota as the Director of Railroads, Secretary of Transportation, and Chief of State Operations, prior to moving to Austin where he was employed with Dell Computers as an IT Strategist before his retirement.
Preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Frances Myers; and one brother, Bob Myers.
Survived by his beloved wife, Kathleen Myers; son, Robert E. Myers and wife Deborah; one granddaughter, Britannia Myers; one sister, Kay Myers; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation Services will be held on Friday 6:00pm to 8:00pm with the Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00pm at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am on Saturday at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Isidore Ndagizimana officiating. Interment will follow in the Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville, Texas.
