Jamie was born in Amarillo, TX on Sept. 10, 1929, to Olin and Corinne Reagan. As a young child she would ride the bus with her sister Florine to “manners” classes across town, or ride her bicycle to meet her cousin Manson.
As a teen, she attended Amarillo High School and graduated with top honors. She received her Bachelor of Psychology degree from Texas Tech University. After graduation, she worked for the FBI in Houston and Standard Oil in Dallas. She married Howard Moore, and together they raised two daughters, Wynn Gibson and Pamela Porter. She was a partner with B.K. Mayes in Heritage Gallery of Lubbock. She bought and remodeled old homes near the Texas Tech campus bringing them back to life with her designer’s eye. She also worked for Katlaco Oil Company for many years.
She was active in the Junior League of Lubbock and volunteered with the Ranching Heritage Center at Texas Tech where she would give tours of the facility. Jamie’s compassion and wit were infectious and made people love having her close.
Jamie married Clyde E. Kelsey in 1987. They loved to travel and entertain friends. She also loved all of her dogs: Patches, Boo Boo, Willie, Gretchen, Jenny, Molly and Ellie.
Jamie was preceded in death by her husband Clyde Kelsey, her sister Florine Beets, and her close cousin Manson Russell. She is survived by daughters Wynn Gibson and her husband Michael, Pamela Porter and her husband Kerry and five grandchildren, Christopher and Michael Davis, and Austin, Addison and Ashley Porter.
Per her wishes, no service will be held. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to donate to the American Humane Society in her name. https://www.americanhumane.org
