Jeannine Montgomery

Jeannine Montgomery age 90 passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 surrounded by family. She was born on February 26, 1931 in Midway, Kentucky to the late George and Georgetta Stipp. She was the oldest of two children.

Jeannine married her love, Donald Allen Montgomery on June 6, 1952 and moved from Versailles, to Lexington, KY. Jeannine always wanted a big family and together they had five children. In 1967 Don and Jeannine packed up the family and relocated to Austin TX giving Don the opportunity to continue his work at IBM’s newly opened campus. Austin is where they laid down permanent roots to raise their family. Together they started a lifetime of their children’s activities and events and they were always present and supportive.

The children were the center of Jeannine’s life as she supported, attended and celebrated each one of her five children’s numerous activities. All of the dance recitals, baseball practices and games, swim meets, gymnastics, drill team, cheerleading, surfing, weightlifting, and babysitting grandkids, all while listening, supporting, caring and just being a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother to her family. She always welcomed the kid’s friends to the house, making the Montgomery’s a gathering place for fun times and celebrations. We thank her for a lifetime of complete and total giving of herself to her family.

She was proceeded in death by her brother George William Stipp just three days prior on January 1, 2022, her husband Donald Allen in 2002, and her daughter-in-law, Dionna Montgomery in 2012.

She is survived by her five children, Keith Montgomery, Austin TX, Glenn Montgomery, Dallas TX, Gina (Jonathan) Frank, Los Gatos CA, Cynthia (Curtis) Johnson, San Antonio TX, Leah (Richard) Kelly, Cedar Park TX , eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Jeannine will be laid to rest during a family graveside ceremony next to her husband, Donald on January 14, 2022.
