Jerjes Alberto Rodriguez, a native Austinite, died peacefully after a prolonged illness on Sunday, March 10, 2013. He was the proud son of Martha Garcia, RPh and Professor Jerjes Rodriguez, and the grandson of Alberto G. Garcia, MD of Austin, and Brigadier General Sidronio Rodriguez of Victoria, Mexico. He attended the Austin Public school system, graduating from Highland Park High School in Dallas. He studied at North Texas State University, where he majored in economics.
His avocations were writing, painting, and an interest in politics. Jerjes was also a religious person and a member of the Order of DeMolay. Jerjes is survived by his sister Maria Thornhill, RPh, brother Nicanor F. Rodriguez, MD, and several nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed by those whose lives he touched.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Cook-Walden/ Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville, with Pastor Darnell Banks officiating. Interment will follow in Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery.
