Jose also known as “Joe”, “Max” or “Cuba” was born to Rosendo and Aurelia on August 21st, 1961 in Elijo la Soledad, Municipio de Padilla, Tamaulipas, Mexico. The baby of 4 children, Jose made his way to Texas in 1980 and met wife Celia Ann in 1982. Jose and Celia were married for 37 years and were active members in their church. Jose was a member of the Cristo Rey Men’s Club for over 25 years. His hobbies were finding treasures and helping others with handyman jobs.
Jose is preceded in death by his parents, and Sister Elva Velazquez.
He is survived by his wife Celia, sister, Griselda Velazquez, Brother Timoteo Velazquez, sisters-in-law and numerous nieces, nephews, godchildren, family and friends.
The family will receive guests from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, December 27th, 2023 in the Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home 14501 North Interstate 35 in Pflugerville, Texas. The Most Holy Rosary will be recited at 7:00pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 AM on Thursday, December 28th, 2023 in the Cristo Rey Catholic Church, 2208 E. 2nd St. in Austin, Texas. The interment will follow in the Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery.
