

Joseph “Alan” Walters was born on May 25, 1963, in Gilmer, Texas, to Bruce Edwin Walters and Jeanette (Henderson) Walters. Alan grew up in Kelsey, and attended Gilmer schools. He lived in San Juan Bautista, California, and Provo, Utah, for a few years, but Round Rock and Pflugerville, Texas have been home for the past 24 years. Alan graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in cartography. He spent nearly 30 years working in various capacities for Senox Corporation in Austin, Texas. On December 19, 1998, Alan married Angela Marie Jukes in the Logan Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Alan is survived by his wife, Angela, daughter, Heather, and son, Brendan. He is also survived by his siblings, Genice (Anthony, Sr.) Bryant of Gilmer, Texas; Edwina (Robert) Edwards, of Rockwall, Texas; and A.B. (Elizabeth) Walters of Burnet, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews, their spouses and children. Alan is preceded in death by his parents Bruce Walters, Jeanette Tidwell, step-fathers Bill Barrow and Leon Tidwell; niece, Andrea Fry and her son, Spencer Allred.
A viewing will be held Friday, May 26, 2023, from 7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m., at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, Texas. Memorial services will be held Saturday, June 10, 2023 at 4 p.m., at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on 700 North Heatherwilde Blvd., Pflugerville, Texas, and on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at 3 p.m., at the Kelsey Cemetery, 6380 Magnolia Rd, Gilmer, Texas.
