
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Juvenal and Raquel Martinez Castro, and by his brothers, Adam Castro and Abel Isaac Castro.
He is survived by his beloved children, Matthew (Angela) and Melissa Reinhart; his cherished grandchildren, Daniel, Tyler, Andrew, Alivia, Layla, and JoJo; and one great-grandchild on the way. He is also survived by his sisters, Virginia Castro and Lidia Campos (Roy); his brothers, Johnny Castro (Rosie) and Jesse Castro; three nieces, four nephews, and twelve great-nieces and great-nephews; as well as two aunts and many cousins.
Joe graduated from Taylor High School in 1971, where he was a member of the Taylor Ducks football team. He continued his education and athletic pursuits at Navarro Junior College and later attended St. Edward’s University and the University of Texas. A lifelong and devoted fan of the Texas Longhorns, Joe proudly displayed his loyalty through an impressive collection of Longhorn memorabilia.
Joe had a passion for collecting and took great pride in his collections of Star Wars memorabilia, baseball cards, and comic books. He was also a gifted cook, a talent he shared with his mother. Joe enjoyed preparing a wide variety of foods, from barbecue and pork roast to desserts, with his cheesecakes being especially loved by family and friends.
Joe will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His family takes comfort in knowing that he is reunited with loved ones who have gone before him and in the hope that they will see him again one day.
