On February 21, 2023 Mary Kathleen Moreland, better known by those who loved her so dearly as “Kathy”, went to heaven to be with our Lord Jesus. Throughout her 75 years, Kathy was an inspiration and a shining light of joy to all those who met her. She exemplified what it means to be a loving Mother, Daughter, Sister, and devoted friend. To know Kathy meant that you had truly been blessed as she lived and will always be remembered for her legacy of love, kindness, and her relationship with the Lord.
Kathy was born November 26th, 1947 in Robstown, Texas, home of the Cotton Pickers, where she spent her childhood in the loving home of her parents, Herman and Dorcille Balzer. She was the middle child of three and is survived by her beautiful sisters, Martha Lee and Linda. Kathy is also survived by her two sons, Kevin and Kyle and her precious grandchildren: KJ, Courtney, and Gregory.
Kathy cherished her family and friends and enjoyed countless moments of joy and laughter with each and every one of you. One of the many things that made her such a special person was her ability to exude love and encouragement at exactly the right time that it was needed. She could change the mood in the room with just the sound of her beautiful voice or a flash of her contagious smile. Her faith was endless and her spirit will forever live on in the smiles on our faces as we remember the joyous times we had with her. We rejoice now knowing she has no more pain and has gone to be with our heavenly father in paradise. We love you mom!
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, February 26th at 3:30 p.m. at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home located at 14501 North Interstate 35 in Pflugerville, Texas. She will then be laid to rest in Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery.
