Lilia married her husband Juan Carlos Gonzales on April 19, 1968 and had two children. She was a stay at home mom while the family lived in Houston. Upon moving back to Sonora, Lilia worked as the Activities Director at the nursing home; a career she continued in Austin and Pflugerville.
Lilia was very creative and was well known for her flower arrangements and wedding bouquets, corsages, and boutonnieres. She loved reading books, watching criminal investigation shows and football games (especially her beloved Pittsburgh Steelers), and spending time with her family.
Lilia is preceded in death by her mother Eva, sister Irene Duran, brother Ramiro Perez, and grandson Noah Rodriguez. She is survived by her husband Juan Carlos; daughter Emily and husband Jose Rodriguez, son John and wife Lisa Gonzales; grandchildren Gabrielle Gonzales, Olivia Gonzales, Isabel Rodriguez, and J.D. Gonzales. She leaves behind her father Ricardo, her brother Richard Perez, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
