Lloyd Ray Duncan, 88, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2018 at the Westminster Senior Living Community in Austin, Texas. Lloyd was born March 19, 1930 to Lula Alexander and Lloyd Campbell Chapman in Antlers, Oklahoma. He attended Oklahoma A&M College where he was a member of the Theta Chi Fraternity for two years before enlisting in the United States Air Force.
Lloyd met his beautiful bride, Hilda Guajardo, in San Antonio on a blind date while he was in Officer Candidate School and she was attending Incarnate Word College. They married in 1954 in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. Some of Lloyd’s key assignments while serving in the Air Force were: Supply Officer, Torrejon de Ardoz, Spain; Missile Combat Crew Commander, F.E. Warren Air Force Base, Wyoming, and Base Comptroller, Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska. While serving in the Air Force, he graduated from the University of Wyoming and earned his Master’s Degree from the University of Alaska. After retiring from the Air Force in 1972, he started a second career as a Disability Examiner with the Texas Rehabilitation Commission, was awarded his CPA, taught accounting at Austin Community College, and managed a small tax accounting practice out of his home.
Lloyd enjoyed working on cars, traveling and going on cruises with his wife, Hilda. He enjoyed hiking with the Colorado River Walkers, and was active with the International Good Neighbor Council, and various other groups and organizations.
Lloyd is survived by his wife, Hilda; daughters, Sandra Parker and husband, Jeff; Suzie Rieman and husband, Randy; Judy Robbins and husband, Jason; and son, James Duncan and wife, Annabell; grandchildren, Andria, Stephen, and Alec Parker; Sara Fredericks, Ashley Skweres, and Ross Duncan; Turner Joseph and Lloyd Robbins, and Emily Zlatos; Stephen Rieman and Jessica Klink; great-grandchildren: Jonah, Griffin, and Everett Skweres; Harper and Duncan Fredericks; Tegan and Tyler Parker, and Kiera and Brenton Klink; his half-sister Jane McCutcheon, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Lloyd was pre-ceded in death by his mother Lula Alexander Duncan; step-father, James S. Duncan; father, Lloyd Chapman; daughter, Dolores Czimny; and half-sister Nancy White.
Visitation will be Monday, May 14, 2018, at Cook Walden in Pflugerville at 5:00 pm followed by a rosary at 7:00 pm. The funeral will be Tuesday, May 15, 2018, at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Austin at 1:00 pm.
